About Us

Ivymount School was founded in 1961 and has served over 8,000 students ages 4-21 with disabilities from throughout the DC Metro Area.  In 1997 outreach services were established to assist students, parents, and teachers who do not participate in the Ivymount School Programs as well as to supplement services that students are receiving at Ivymount School.  Service Providers are committed to student assessment, ongoing consultation, program development, and professional education throughout the Washington DC metropolitan area.

  • All therapists are highly skilled in pediatrics, certified by their national organizations and licensed in Maryland, DC, and or Virginia.
  • All tutors are highly skilled in all subject areas and for all ages.  Tutors are all certified educators Maryland, DC, and or Virginia.
  • All consultants and psychologists are Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) and have extensive experience working with students with autism and other developmental disabilities.  Psychologists are licensed in Maryland, DC, or Virginia.
  • Treatment groups are led by a professional team of speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, and behavior specialists.
