Named twice by the US Department of Education as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, Ivymount is a non-sectarian, non-public special education day school. Ivymount’s integrated approach to learning includes educational programs and therapeutic services for over 200 students, ages 4 – 21, whose disabilities include developmental delays, speech/language deficits, learning disabilities, health impairments, and autism/PDD. 

Since its founding in 1961, Ivymount School has served over 7,000 children and young adults. The school fosters the intellectual, social, physical and emotional growth of students so that, to the greatest extent possible, they may move into the mainstream of education and become self-supporting and independent members of their communities.
