Related Service Model

  • Employs speech/language pathologists and occupational therapists as consultants to the Autism Program

  • Provides services in collaborative fashion through consultation with autism program staff

  • Includes the following consultation services:

    • Observation

    • Assessment

    • Monitor skill acquisition programs, student progress, and classroom instruction and make necessary recommendations

    • Direct activity groups such as cooking and vocational group to facilitate incidental learning and generalization of skills

    • Participation in problem solving

  • Promotes generalization of skills and consistent implementation of recommendations throughout the day
