Related Service Model
Employs speech/language pathologists and occupational therapists as consultants to the Autism Program
Provides services in collaborative fashion through consultation with autism program staff
Includes the following consultation services:
Observation
Assessment
Monitor skill acquisition programs, student progress, and classroom instruction and make necessary recommendations
Direct activity groups such as cooking and vocational group to facilitate incidental learning and generalization of skills
Participation in problem solving
Promotes generalization of skills and consistent implementation of recommendations throughout the day
