Autism Speaks has grown into the world's leading autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.

Council for Exceptional Children

The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving the educational success of individuals with disabilities and/or gifts and talents. CEC advocates for appropriate governmental policies, sets professional standards, provides professional development, advocates for individuals with exceptionalities, and helps professionals obtain conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice.

District of Columbia Association for Special Education (DCASE)

DCASE is an alliance of nonpublic and charter schools that provide special education services to students from the District of Columbia.  Members are dedicated to improving educational opportunities for all DC students with disabilities.

The Maryland Association of Nonpublic Special Education Facilities (MANSEF)

MANSEF represents more than 90 nonpublic schools throughout Maryland that serve students with physical, emotional and developmental needs that cannot be adequately met in public schools.  MANSEF works to educate legislators about the issues facing Maryland's special needs students and their families and advocates on behalf of its member schools on budget and policy issues.  MANSEF also works closely with the Maryland State Department of Education on issues related to educating special needs students.
