Alumni Who Transitioned to Less Restrictive Placements

Alumni Who Transitioned to Less Restrictive (LRE) Placements (2013)

Abstract:
Based on 15 interviews with the parents of Model Asperger Program (MAP) alumni, the purpose of this study was to measure academic and social outcomes for MAP alumni who had transitioned to less restrictive placements between 2010-12. It appears that all alumni moving into less restrictive placements have experienced academic success, and many have experienced social success. Furthermore, most alumni seem satisfied with their post-MAP lives. Parents attribute this success in large part to the MAP curriculum and to a well-trained, caring staff.
