MIDDLE SCHOOL

- Serves children ages 10-14 years old.

- Offers a fundamental life skills program with applied academics in the following areas: reading, language arts, math, social studies, science and visual-motor training for students with moderate to significant learning disabilities. Students have a wide range of academic abilities and potential.

- Offers programs for students with pervasive, multiple expressive and receptive language and learning needs. The programs use a functional academic and communication-based approach that utilizes assistive technology and augmentative communication systems.

- Provides all students with a transdisciplinary team of special education teachers, assistant teachers, speech/language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists (as needed), and clinical social workers.

- Utilizes additional classroom resources including curriculum, educational technology, assistive technology, reading, audiology, behavioral resource support, and art and music therapy.

- Provides opportunities for students to participate in extra-curricular activities including student council, safety patrol, chorus, student newspaper, drama, art, and community service.
