Ivymount Community Gathers to Launch a New Year of Learning

Ivymount recently hosted its annual Back to School Night, welcoming families into the building to meet teachers and related service providers, tour classrooms, and learn more about the year ahead. The evening focused on building strong family-school connections and offering tools to support learners during the back-to-school transition.

Classroom teams shared information about schedules, academic goals, communication methods, and classroom routines. Families had the chance to ask questions and better understand what a typical day looks like for their learners.

In addition to classroom visits, families explored a selection of resources offered by Ivymount’s Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Mental Health, Adapted Physical Education, Expressive Arts, Transition Services, and Speech Pathology teams. Materials included helpful tips for supporting classroom learning and development at home, accessing opportunities for movement and art in the community, ensuring cybersafety during online play, and more.

Ivymount was also excited to launch the Gator Givers program, where a recurring donation of any amount makes an immediate and lasting impact for students and staff. Monthly donations bridge the gap between tuition and the real cost of Ivymount School’s individualized support, fund special initiatives and equipment, and support additional staff training. Back to School Night gave families the opportunity to connect with one another, helping to build a sense of community and purpose at the start of the school year. This shared commitment between families and staff sets the foundation for student success this year.
