The Maddux School Expands: Third Grade Coming Soon

The Maddux School is thrilled to announce a major milestone in its journey: beginning in the 26-27 school year, the school will expand to include third grade, with plans to grow through fifth grade in the coming years.

“This is a moment we’ve been working toward for a long time,” said Jenny Engel, School Director. “Maddux is an amazing early childhood program that helps students build confidence, make friends, and learn to love learning. Expanding through fifth grade allows us to continue supporting our students during these critical years.”

The expansion reflects the school’s mission to meet children where they are and help them grow into confident, successful learners. Engel emphasized the unique approach Maddux takes: “It’s not most schools where you walk in and see three adults, a speech pathologist, and an occupational therapist embedded into a child’s program. That’s part of what makes the magic happen here.”

Parents have long voiced their desire for continued support beyond second grade, and the school has listened. One parent shared, “Maddux is a hidden gem. It’s the best place in the world for our son. I wish it was available to every child who needed it—it’s truly spectacular.”

Another parent reflected on the transformation they witnessed: “It was the first month that I could see my child was mentally and physically much calmer. That’s when I knew—we’re in the right place.”

In addition to expanding grade levels, Maddux continues to respond to family needs with innovative programming—like Club Maddux, the school’s aftercare program that was created specifically for Maddux students who thrive in structured, supportive environments. It’s a safe, enriching space that also helps families manage the daily logistics of school, therapy, and care. “We heard from parents about the challenges of juggling priorities,” said Engel. Through Ivymount Outreach, students can access services like occupational therapy, speech pathology, and even a newly launched social skills group—all without leaving the school campus.

Along with expanding grades and services, Maddux will unveil a refreshed brand identity and a new website later this school year to better reflect its vibrant community.

“We’re ready to grow with your child,” Engel said. “And we’re so glad you’re with us.”
